It’s Highly Possible To Get Female Ghanaian President – Osei-Opare Says

The Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, believes there are capable women who can equally occupy the highest office of the land just as their male counterparts

Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, Chief of Staff, Office of the President, believes it is highly possible for Ghana to have a female president in the near future.

Speaking with Nana Yaa Mensah on Sunday Night ahead of International Women’s Day, which falls on 8 March, the reappointed chief of staff said there are currently a myriad of capable women who can equally take up the challenging role of governing the country.

Ghana is yet to elect a female president, 64 years after gaining independence from its colonial rulers.

Despite efforts by current and previous governments to increase women representation in leadership, experts still believe the country has failed to give women the leverage to occupy the highest office of the land.
