H.E President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo Appoints Another Caretaker Minister

H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed another caretaker Minister to accommodate for the absence of his nominee for the Ministry of Finance. This has become necessary as the nominee, Ken Ofori Atta is currently undergoing emergent medical treatment in the United States of America. The caretaker Minister, who is the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu is to take over affairs as at the Finance Ministry until the further notice.

George Wiafe of Multimedia, tweeted that the media house received an official communication that was addressed by the President to the Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin, to acknowledge his appointee.

"Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah Bonsu has been appointed as the Caretaker Minister of Finance.

This was contained in letter from President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin about the appointment, which was communicated to the house " he stated.

This had become necessary as the Presidency had arranged that Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu presents the 2021 Budget Statement and Economic Policy tomorrow in Parliament.

It will be the first time in the country's history when such compromises had to be taken to satisfy a constitutional requirement.

But there are more pressing matters as nothing much has been heard about the current health status of the former Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori Atta.
