GOVERNMENT SHOULD CREATE MORE EMPLOYMENT TO REDUCE TAX PAYERS DEFICIT – MR. WILLIAM BOADI

Ghanaians realized tax increments and the introduction of new taxes in the recent budget delivered by the Parliamentary affairs minister and the care-taker finance minister Honorable Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu.

A lot of Ghanaians have expressed their dissatisfaction with some new tax being introduce which has turn the NPP government to be a disappointed one in the eyes of many Ghanaians.

Reacting to this, the CEO of Educate Africa Institute (EAI) Mr. William Boadi has stated that, the number of people in the country that pay tax is below average with regards to the total population of the country, ”the number of citizenry that pay tax are always centred on some selected portion of our population being the people working within the government sector” he asserted.

He therefore pleaded with the government to as a matter of urgency create more employment to be able to capture more citizens in the Tax payment system.

Mr Boadi disclosed that, the projected Ghanaian populations of 30 million have only 30% of tax payers hence it makes it difficult for the government to realize the needed revenue for the country’s development.

He added that if the government is able to create a lot of Direct and indirect jobs, it will be easier to track the employees to pay taxes since their salaries will be paid by the government.

He further stressed that, the government must introduce a system that will ensure that more Ghanaians are tracked to pay tax to increase the revenue of the country.
He made this known to the media
