The State Prosecutor, Mr. Martin Amidu has tendered his resignation as the Special Prosecutor to the President of Ghana, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo.
The state investigator noted in a press release that he had suffered some traumatic experiences following the publication of the corruption risk assessment report on the Agyapa Royalties Deal since October 20 this year.
He mentioned that such interference has compromised his independence, a reason he ought to resign.
Mr. Amidu said that his resignation letter has been received by the President of Ghana, and as such wishes to inform the public about it.
He indicated that his person and the office has had its independence threatened ever since he called for an investigation into the matter.
He added with assurance, that his office conducted its obligation as required and stipulated by the law that established it
